The moment, Douglas Kenney
Douglas Kennedy was born on January 1st, 1955 in New York. He is a very famous american novelist. He is especially wellknown for his books : The Dead Heart which was written in 1994, The big picture which date back from 1997, but also for The Pursuit of happiness in 2001.
The caracteristics of his way of writting, are the thruth concerning the characters, the suspens and mainly his questions about relationships between women and men or about the world of art. Indeed, he is interrested by the link between the artists and their creation. Kennedy's books deal with the human as he really is, with their failings, thier happinnes and their consternations.
We will now focus on his novel The Moment, which was written in 2011.
This books deals with the story of an American writter, Thomas Nesbitt, which had received posts which reminded him his past. Indeed, the readers follow his travel in 1984 in Berlin, in order to write an essay about the consequences of The Wold War Two (like the wall of Berlin, the life in each part of this divided town...) in the context of The Cold War. During his works for Radio Liberty, he met Petra in between them it was love at the first sight. Little by little she started confessing to him her upsetting story in the the Est of Berlin, and how she came in this side. However, Thomas didn't know all the story and some doubts make him done a terrible mistake which will changed his life.
